Basic Excel you may need to know

For more information on any of the below see Excel Help (F1 key).

Close File - From the Excel menu select File -> Close or use keystrokes: Alt, F, C.  This closes any Excel workbook file including a Paymee file.

F2 - Pressing the F2 key puts you in edit mode.  This is the same as double-clicking in most cases.

Formulas - Actually you don't need to know Excel formulas to use Paymee.  However, you can, if you need to, use a formula in any numerical field.  For example you can input the total for a line item as 100 or as =80+20.  Formulas must start with = or + or -.  Except for Retainage formulas, Paymee automatically converts formulas to their value & the formula itself is not stored by Paymee (just the value).

Open File - From the Excel menu select File -> Open or use keystrokes: Alt, F, O.  This opens any Excel file including a Paymee file.

Print - From the Excel menu select File -> Printor use keystrokes: Alt, F, P. You can also print from the Paymee menu by selecting Project -> Print Paymee Project... from the Paymee menu.  You can print out multiple distribution copies with the distribution highlighted using the Paymee print command.

Save a File - From the Excel menu select File -> Save use keystrokes: Alt, F, S. This saves the Excel file & also any Paymee file.  To save the file with a different name choose File -> Save As from the Excel menu.  This also creates a copy with the new name.

Window - If you have more than one file open in Excel, use the Window menu in Excel to switch between the different Excel files open.  In Excel 2007 & newer this is found under the View tab.  Tip in any version of Excel you can also use the shortcut: Ctrl-Tab.
